Part of GPL's Hygge Cafe
with coffee, hot chocolate and pastries
The month of March in Massachusetts can be a mixed bag — one moment it could be sunny and 65, the next you could be inundated with snow, ice, wind, or a special recipe of all of the above.
Unpredictable skies added to life’s myriad stresses can leave you feeling drained and less than enthusiastic. Turn this around with the help of the Groton Public Library.
Their 2018 Groton Reads program spotlights Meek Wiking’s “The Little Book of Hygge: Danish Secrets to Happy Living”. Hygge is a Danish term that refers to a state of being that is pleasant, safe and content and cozy.
Every Friday in March they are providing steaming mugs of coffee and hot chocolate from us at Salt and Light Bistro, as well as a variety of baked goods, during their Cozy Hygge Cafe. (For non-Danish speakers, the pronunciation is “Hue-guh”.)
These events are free and participants are invited to create an atmosphere of togetherness. Discussion of Wiking’s book is encouraged, and there are prizes for those who take part in the Hygge Challenge.
