Josiah and Linda Coleman opened Salt and Light, a Bistro and Lounge in 2015. After three years, the business continues to flourish alongside This Beautiful Dust, an ethical boutique nurtured by Linda, which occupies one corner of the Lounge.
The idea of promoting food and fashion as art is a central motivational force for TBD and S&L. Relationship building with small local businesses and farms as well as ethical artisans across the country and the globe is continually rewarding on multiple levels; interpersonally as well as financially. Upward trends “on the books” would seem empty in the absence of forming lasting bonds in the community and widening our circle of friends with mutual interests and goals.

The Colemans work tirelessly alongside their staff to create an approachable atmosphere for all, in a remodeled interior of a historic downtown building. Rather than compete with previous stories, the bistro and boutique have forged their own unique path.
The couple, parents of two, pour their energy and experience in high-end retail and corporate cheffing, into food and fashion appreciation. With encouraging smiles from door to table, all receive a welcome not just as guests but as new friends.
In that same vein, the team assembled by the Colemans to keep the kitchen and front of house running is more like family. We learn together and lean on each other and hope to make the Cafe and Boutique your go-to spot in town.
Our menu constantly changes but can always be counted on for bold, eclectic dishes: food that fuels and inspires.
Fresh ingredients are paramount - our scratch kitchen never uses preservatives or additives, and as such, can provide worry-free, allergy friendly meals.
Fair-trade organic whole bean coffees and loose leaf teas from Doma and Rishi are proven crowd pleasers. No matter what your palette demands, we have something to satisfy.
